Alternator Belt....?

I need to know how to change the belt on a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant? What tools needed, etc. Thanks!Alternator Belt....?I've never looked at a Galant, but if the serpentine belt has a spring loaded tensioner, you just need something to turn the tensioner enough to let the belt loose. Some tensioners have a 3/8 or 1/2 inch square drive in them, others have a hex head to put a wrench or socket on. Some cars need a special pry tool. If all goes well, it just takes 5 minutes. But if things are conjested it can be an ordeal. Pay close attention to how it wrapped around the pullies before you take it off. Make sure the new belt is the same length as the old one before you put it on, the parts guys might give you the wrong part. Good luck.Alternator Belt....?1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair...with that being said...

2nd without the proper knowledge to use the proper tools, you will not be able to repair your vehicle...

my advise to you is to take your vehicle to a qualified and trusted technician that can give a proper repair with a guarranty that it will be done right.

Good luck and I hope this helps...Alternator Belt....?Don't know what Galant you have because there are different models. As far as I know, the galant uses a serpentine belt, meaning it only uses one belt for all the accessories. To replace it is to release the tensioner with a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar.
